School Spotlights

Alcott Elementary

Alcott Elementary

2024 - Present

Since 2024, FreeSpeak has been running its Persuasive Communication Bootcamp as a recurring afterschool program during the school year, starting with Louisa May Alcott Elementary. Through weekly sessions filled with interactive games and collaborative exercises, students continuously build their skills in persuasive speaking. Each session contributes to a broader learning arc, culminating each term in student-led showcases where participants present original speeches on topics they care about.

In 2025, the program expanded to Ella Baker Elementary, where it now runs on a similar ongoing basis. Throughout the school year, Ella Baker students engage in structured, skill-building sessions that help them develop and refine their public speaking abilities. Showcase topics have ranged from creative product pitches to advocacy on littering and community improvement, with parents and peers celebrating their progress at each term's close.

Rosa Parks Elementary

Rosa Parks Elementary

2026 - Present

In 2026, FreeSpeak expanded its programming to Rosa Parks Elementary, bringing its communication and confidence-building workshops to a new group of students. Through interactive activities, structured skill-building exercises, and guided speaking practice, students learn to organize their ideas, articulate their thoughts clearly, and express themselves with confidence. Students explore topics that genuinely excite them, including gaming, portals to other worlds, and getting pets, using these interests as a foundation to craft and present their ideas. By connecting personal passions with persuasive communication, the program helps students build confidence, strengthen their voice, and develop leadership skills in both academic and everyday settings.
